Hello Gilbert H. Hood Families,
We had another great week at Gilbert H. Hood Middle School. We started the week with an assembly to remind students to be respectful, responsible, and safe. In addition, many students started their fall NWEA assessments. These assessments help us plan instruction and help students set learning goals. Our arrival and dismissal procedures continue to become more efficient and routine. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation as we finetune our process. Working together, we can do amazing things.
Fall Open House for Families-9/12
Our traditional Fall Open House is scheduled for Thursday, September 12. This will be a good time for you to stop by, meet your child’s teachers and see their classrooms. The schedule for the night is provided below. Please pay attention to the times indicated for each grade level. Doing so will help other families find parking when it’s their scheduled time. We look forward to seeing you.

Picture Day-9/16
Picture day is Monday, September 16. Preorder information is attached. The school's unique order code posted is for pre orders only. This code expires at midnight on picture day. Families that miss preordering will have another ordering opportunity when they receive their child's proof photo (approx. 4-5 weeks after picture day).
Adventurelore-9/17 & 9/18
We are fortunate to have Adventurelore visiting GHH on September 17 and 18. Each team will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of team building activities for a portion of either the 17th or 18th. Adventurelore is a local organization that specializes in delivering activities to promote community, leadership and effective communication. We are excited to offer this opportunity to our students.
