Hello Gilbert H. Hood Families,

What a beautiful weekend! Maybe your weekend included some apple picking, pumpkin carving, or just enjoying a walk while kicking the fall leaves. However you and your family spent the weekend, I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy the unusually warm weather!

Here’s a few items to share with you this week:

Pink Out Day - 10.18.2024

We had amazing participation in Pink Out Day  on Friday, October 18. The building was a sea of pink, in every shade you can imagine! We had several advisories with 100% participation: Ms. Ange, Ms. Frost, Mr. Neeb, Ms. Hanlon, Dr. DiPirro, and Ms. Lavallee. After a random draw, both Ms. Ange’s and Dr. DiPirro’s advisories won a Monday morning treat! As a result of the bracelet sales during lunch, the Student Council raised $436 for Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Londonderry. Thank you to all who participated!

The Great ShakeOut 2024

Thursday, October 17, we held our annual Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill. Students and staff practiced a “Drop, Cover and Hold” drill and then evacuated the building. We are proud of our students for their cooperation during this practice drill. We are impressed with the speed with which the building was clear and all students and staff were accounted for!
