Hello Gilbert H. Hood Families,
This past week our students participated in a fun, educational assembly entitled ThinkFast Interactive. Make sure to ask your child(ren) about it. We would like to lift up the CATS organization (Community Alliance for Teen Safety) for their support in sponsoring this engaging event for our students. Thank you!
Here are a couple items to share for the upcoming weeks:
Food Drive - April
Attached is a flyer for our district’s Spring food drive for “End 68 Hours of Hunger ”. Snacks, as well as other items, are needed. (Please no glass containers.) Donations are being collected in each team area April 1 through April 22. The team that collects the most donations will receive a special Kona Ice visit!
Faculty Follies - April 4
The Faculty Follies is Friday, April 4, 6:00-8:00 in the gym. Come see GHH staff showcase their various “talents”. Tickets on sale during lunches (Wednesday and Thursday). They can also be purchased at the door. Tickets are $6 each, or $20 for a family four-pack. The cost of the ticket includes both dinner AND a show! We hope to see families there.
Annual NH State Assessments - April
Students at GHHMS will be taking the NHSAS tests (state testing) on the following dates:
-
April 3 - Grade 8 only - Science
-
April 8 - Grades 7 & 8 - Reading
-
April 11 - Grades 7 & 8 - Writing
-
April 16 - Grades 7 & 8- Math
We understand illness and other circumstances happen, but it is important to have as many students as possible attend school, on time, on testing days. If students are absent on testing days, they will be pulled from class at a later date to make-up the tests they missed.
We also ask that students have their computers charged and ready to use on testing days to make it easier for them to get started on time.
