Hello Gilbert H. Hood Families,

We started the NH state assessments this week with our eighth graders taking the Science portion of the tests.  This week we continue with the Reading and Writing portions with both seventh and eighth graders.  We thank you for your continued support as you encourage your child(ren) to approach the assessment with a positive mindset and put forth their best efforts.

Friday night was the ever-popular Faculty Follies event.  We would like to lift up all the staff members who participated. “Well done” to all those who planned the event, performed on stage or on video, helped behind the scenes, and served dinner.  Thank you to the students and families who attended and supported our amazing GHH staff.

Here are a couple items to share for the upcoming weeks:

Food Drive - April

Our district’s Spring food drive for “End 68 Hours of Hunger ”.  Snacks, as well as other items, are needed. (Please no glass containers.)  Donations are being collected in each team area April 1 through April 22.  The team that collects the most donations will receive a special Kona Ice visit!

Annual NH State Assessments - April

Students at GHHMS will continue the NHSAS tests (state testing) on the following dates:

  • April 8 - Grades 7 & 8 - Reading

  • April 11 - Grades 7 & 8 - Writing

  • April 16 - Grades 7 & 8- Math

We understand illness and other circumstances happen, but it is important to have as many students as possible attend school, on time, on testing days.  If students are absent on testing days, they will be pulled from class at a later date to make-up the tests they missed.

We also ask that students have their computers charged and ready to use on testing days to make it easier for them to get started on time.
