October 25, 2024

Dear West Running Brook Families:

Students had a fun Friday, with most participating in a well-deserved Pajama Day for the continued success of our PTSA Monster Mile Fundraiser! This week we talked to teams about our “Run, Hide, Fight” procedures. At the end of this discussion, students practiced the “Hide” portion, which follows the routine of our typical lockdown drill. We will hold a school-wide “hide” drill very soon.

We look forward to a festive week at WRB next week.  Student Council has planned a Spirit Week (see details below). This culminates with our Monster Mile school-wide activity on Thursday. We still have one week to go, but so far we are excited about the success of this fundraiser, which will allow us to provide many enriching opportunities for our students.

FAMILY CONFERENCES:

Family conferences are scheduled for Tuesday, 11/12 from 12:05 to 7:00. You should have received information from your child’s advisor. Come meet your child’s UA teachers in the library. Congratulations to this week’s Golden Bear Winners:

Mrs. Manchester’s Orange Computer Class

Mrs. Manchester recognizes her class for their outstanding commitment to academic responsibility and time management. This class has consistently demonstrated diligence, discipline, and teamwork by completing all of their assignments on time throughout the trimester. As a matter of fact, they are the only class that has no missing assignments. They are respectful, kind, and polite; and are always willing to help one another. This class deserves to be recognized for their exceptional work ethic, as they are a shining example of what it means to be responsible and motivated learners!

Mr. Poole’s Purple Math Class

Mr. Poole is so proud of his Purple Math class! They demonstrated excellent estimation skills when trying to calculate how many Oreo cookies the Cookie Monster ate! They have been coming to class with all of the necessary tools: pencils, Chromebooks, binders, and most importantly, a positive attitude towards learning. Mr. Poole is very happy to be nominating them for the Golden Bear. Go Green House!
