November 1, 2024

Dear West Running Brook Families:

What a week at WRB! The Monster Mile was a huge success! It was great to see all of our students walking and running in support of the WRB PTSA! Nearly $20,000 was raised, all of which goes right back to our students! Thank you to our volunteers, PTSA, staff and students for making this such a huge success!

Next week we celebrate a long standing tradition at WRB, welcoming Veterans to a special breakfast on Friday morning. All students will be able to view the ceremony and enjoy a team breakfast, as the event will be live streamed to classrooms.

Don’t forget, we have our monthly PTSA Meeting Wednesday, November 6 at 6:00 in the library.

FAMILY CONFERENCES:

Family conferences are scheduled for Tuesday, 11/12 from 12:05 to 7:00. You should have received information from your child’s advisor. Come meet your child’s UA teachers in the library. UA is also available for scheduled conferences. Please feel free to reach out to your child’s advisor or the office with any questions.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

SKI CLUB SIGN UPS ARE CLOSED. All ski club spots have been filled.

PTSA Wrapping Paper Fundraiser

Due to popular demand, PTSA is having a wrapping paper fundraiser. Please see HERE for more information!

Accessing Grades

Grades are now viewable in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. This is your way to check your child's progress in class. If you have access to PowerSchool, please go to sau10.powerschool.com to access your child's grades. Once logged in, click the "standards" tab. If you do not have access to PowerSchool, please see your email for a message that was sent regarding the Annual Return to School Informational Update. Here you can find information regarding PowerSchool log in. If you have any issues, please contact the office for assistance.

Congratulations to this week’s Golden Bear Winners:

Ms. Watson’s Orange Class

Ms. Watson's Orange Stem class worked incredibly hard this week to use the Design Process to create water filters from recycled materials. They were able to embrace productive struggle and worked hard to reflect and redesign if their initial prototypes were not successful. They were diligent in completing their documentation and worked well with their partners.

Mrs. Reese’s Blue Class

Mrs. Reese’s blue math class had a great week getting to work and persevering, even when there was a substitute in class. Teachers don’t love to be out sick, but when they are, they appreciate everyone who comes together to make our visiting adult feel welcome, respected and follow those CARES values that we stress each day here at WRBIS!!! Mrs. Reese is so proud of the example they set for the other blocks.

Important: Returning Student Annual Information Update

Please complete the Returning Student Annual Information Update. This must be done for ALL NEW and RETURNING STUDENTS!! You will use the PowerSchool Parent Portal to access the Update. (If you do not have a portal account, or you did not receive instructions for setting it up, complete this form and instructions will be sent to you: https://forms.gle/qLw5onCPkAs1wo846 ). Please call the office for any questions or assistance: 603-432-1250.

**Please drive slowly around the property.

With the new playground, students cross the driveway regularly.**

Along with the newsletter, which is sent out each Friday and posted on the website, we will use Morning Meeting Notices to keep everyone up to date on all the happenings here at WRB. As the year progresses, more clubs and activities will be occurring regularly. Morning Meeting Notices will be shared with all students each morning. They can also be found by families on OUR WEBSITE under the resources tab.

Enjoy the weekend!
