Ms. Metalious
Ms. M hails from VT, the land of tree tapping and ski sloping. She lives by the ocean now and visits the green mountains when she can. In the mean time, motorcycle riding, reading in the treehouse, collecting swords, sharing time with family, painting with her hands, testing jelly bean flavors (do NOT eat the popcorn ones.), working on a mythical creatures picture book, and a neverending game of fetch with 2 black dogs keeps her busy. Ms. Metalious is the lucky librarian for both Gilbert H Hood and West Running Brook Middle schools. This will be her 12th year here. She has worked in elementary, high school, and public libraries since forever, so she's pretty sure she likes the job:)& The people that come with it are also rather fantastic. Middle school is by far the most fun. Thank you for being great! Ms. Metalious is the district's certified Librarian, oversees the middle school libraries, and teaches digital literacy and research skill classes. She has a degree in Art Education from Plymouth State College and a Masters in Library Science from the University of Rhode Island. She has picked up and put down every single book in this Library, read a gazillion books (well, almost), and wants to know what YOU'RE reading!?
Mrs. Jones
Come say hello to the new Library Assistant at GHH and WRB !
Amie Jones loves to read anything and everything and has volunteered and worked in school and public libraries for the past ten years. When she is not reading, she enjoys puzzles, running, biking, caring for her backyard chickens, being by the ocean, and going on adventures with her family. She is excited about spreading her love of reading with those around her. Her favorite quote about reading is, "If you don't like to read, you haven't found the right book." (J.K. Rowling) Come over to the library and let her find the right book for you!
